Speech Language Pathologist

Jessica Jocelyn is a national and state certified speech-language pathologist. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of Florida; her Master of Education in Communication Science and Disorders at Valdosta State University; and currently she is pursuing her Ph.D. in Communication Science and Disorders at Howard University. Jessica has worked in the field for 9 years evaluating and treating speech-language disorders in a variety of settings such as elementary, middle, and high schools, child development centers, and home health. Jessica primarily serves the school-aged and preschool populations. She has clinical experience treating and diagnosing articulation, phonology, fluency, expressive/receptive language, and social communication disorders. She has experience with special populations such as children with autism spectrum disorder, down syndrome, specific learning disabilities, and developmental delay. Jessica has a strong clinical and research interest in bilingual language development, literacy, and augmentative alternative communication (AAC). She is a fluent Haitian Creole speaker and has conversational Spanish skills. Jessica is a member of the National Black Association for Speech-Language and Hearing (NBASLH) and the American Speech Hearing Association (ASHA). She is a part of ASHA special interest groups for culture and linguistic diversity as well as global issues
